There is no better way to start the season than with Le Festival Armen. A mixture of inshore and coastal racing with a ski slalom, oh and an art festival for good measure!

The Program

You will join us in Saint Tropez on the Friday before the first weekend for a training session. Saturday we race to Cavalaire-sir-mer as part of the first coastal race, there is then a social event in Cavalaire on Saturday night followed by a race back to Saint Tropez on Sunday morning. During the week there is an arts festival in Saint Tropez with a competition between boats and for those who want to, the option to spend the week skiing in Isola 2000 with the ski slalom competition on the Friday. On Friday night everyone makes their way back to Saint Tropez ready for the second weekend which consists of multiple inshore races in the bay. Those only joining for the second weekend can either join for some skiing in the week or arrive on the Friday for a day of training on the water. There are social events on the Saturday and Sunday evening.

Experience Needed

None at all needed for the sailing however awesome skiers and keen artists are very welcome!

Getting There

The closest airport is Nice (NCE) however Marseille (MRS) isn’t much further and is often less busy. From either of these you can get a train to Sainte Maxime, once here it is a taxi or bus into Saint Tropez. We can put crew in contact with each other to discuss logistics and booking taxis/accommodation together etc.

Kit You Need

Although this is a Med event it is recommended to follow our “UK Inshore” racing kit list as It can be cold in Saint tropez in February.

Skiing:

If you wish to join in for the days skiing on the Friday before weekend 2 it will be £80 as the yacht club organises travel from Saint Tropez on Friday morning and back on Friday evening as well as ski passes and a social event. If you wish to ski for the full week there will be members of the team in the mountains you are more than welcome to join however you will have to organise this yourself.
